Packages... but first some explanations.

Ozefridge systems are supplied as complete packages pre-gassed ready to install rather than piece by piece.  Each package has a multi-voltage refrigeration unit that couples to either a single or twin eutectic plates to be located inside the cabinet to be refrigerated.

Each of the five  base packages described below has four variations available allowing them to suit different cabinet sizes, shapes and functions.

These variations relate to whether a single or twin eutectic plate system is required and the orientation of the eutectic plate(s) so as to suit the cabinet.

The top right sketch opposite indicates a package with a eutectic plate for portrait mounting. Portrait plates are tall with their longest dimension being vertical and mounting flanges on the vertical sides as indicated.

The center sketch indicates a package with a eutectic plate for landscape mounting. Landscape plates are wide with their longest dimension being horizontal and mounting flanges on the horizontal sides as indicated.

Twin plate systems suit freezer cabinets over 80 liters and fridge / freezer combination cabinets using the Thermo-fan and stainless steel heat exchanger option to refrigerate the adjacent cabinet. (see 'Cabinet Ideas')


Numbering:
The system model number indicates the following:
C ## indicates condensing unit components (50= Danfoss BD50).
T# - # indicates the dimensions of the eutectic plate. (In Cms)
SL, SP, TL or TP indicates if a single or twin plate and it's orientation .

For example;
Model C450/ T32-29SL          =C450 unit & single T32-29 landscape.
Model C450/ T32-29SP         =C450 unit & single T32-29 portrait.
Model C450/ twin T32-29TL  =C450 unit & twin T32-29 landscape.

Package One..
Model C450/ T32-29 (P or L., or Twin P or L)

This compact system package has our standard eutectic plate and suits refrigerator cabinets up to 120 liters or freezers up to 50 liters. (With a single plate in a properly Insulated cabinet.. Larger with twin plates.)

Ideal model for converting boat ice boxes and domestic, camping or caravan fridges to an efficient eutectic system.

Extremely low power consumption. Typically if installed in a 120 liter refrigerator it would consume approximately 13 to 15 amps per day during cooler months and up to double that during summer.
Power consumption while running on 12.5 volt DC supply is 3.8 to 4.9 amps/hr.
Approximate system run time per refreeze cycle is 2.4 hours. (To freeze the eutectic tank through phase change while maintaining cabinet temperature).

This refrigeration package is pre-gassed and ready to install, a simple *DIY project.

This compact system package has our standard eutectic plate and suits refrigerator cabinets up to 160 litres or freezers up to 70 litters. (With a single plate in a properly Insulated cabinet.. Larger with twin plates.)

Ideal model for conversion of boat ice boxes and domestic, camping or caravan fridges to an efficient eutectic system.

Extremely low power consumption. Typically if installed in a 160 litre refrigerator it would consume approximately 13 to 15 amps per day during cooler months and up to double that during summer.
Power consumption on 12.5 volt DC supply is 4.1 to 4.9 amps/hr.

This popular system package has the largest capacity eutectic tank and suits properly Insulated refrigerator cabinets up to 220* litres or freezers up to 100* litres. (With a single plate in a properly Insulated cabinet.. Larger with twin plates.) *Best with condenser water cooling.

Extremely low power consumption. Typically a 220 litre refrigerator would consume approximately 22 to 28 amps per day during cooler months and up to double that during summer.
Power consumption while running on 12.5 volt DC supply is 4.2 to 5.2 amps / hr.

Approximate system run time per refreeze cycle is 3.9 hours. (To freeze the eutectic plate through phase change while maintaining cabinet temperature).

This popular system package has a similar large capacity eutectic plate but is narrower at only 75mm thick overall also and suits properly insulated refrigerator cabinets up to 220* litres or freezers up to 100* litres. (With a single plate in a properly Insulated cabinet.. Larger with twin plates.) *Best with condenser water cooling.

Extremely low power consumption. Typically a 220 litre refrigerator would consume approximately 21 to 27 amps per day during cooler months and up to double that during summer.
Power consumption while running on 12.5 volt DC supply is 4.2 to 5.2 amps / hr.

This system has our largest but thinest eutectic plate and suits properly insulated refrigerator cabinets up to 220* litres or freezers up to 100* litres. (With a single plate in a properly Insulated cabinet.. Larger with twin plates.) *Best with condenser water cooling.

Ideal for adding to a cabinet that has an existing boat motor driven system for additional, yet separate, refrigeration that can operate from any 12 / 24 volt DC battery and 110 / 240 volt AC power. Also suits narrower cabinets where space is an issue

Power consumption while running on 12.5 volt DC supply is 4.3 to 5.3 amps / hr.
Approximate system run time per cycle is 3.1 hours. (To refrigerate through phase change while maintaining cabinet temperature).

Option One: ECO-2
(Built-in Smart Start and power supply management unit.)

Why and How: Refrigeration systems consume electrical energy (power supply)   converting it into thermal energy (to make your cabinet cold)

There are two distinct groups of electrical power available to supply your fridge system:

(A) Abundant Power (Mode A)
is whenever a 110 or 240 volt AC mains or generated  supply is available OR when the 12V DC power supply is fed from an alternator, solar, etc. and the voltage exceeds 13.5V. (Excess power after the batteries are topped up, energy that would otherwise be wasted.)
(B) Limited Power (Mode L) is when power supply is from a battery source only.

The ECO-2 optimizer is a power management unit that reduces battery demand by operating as follows:

1.) Whenever power supply is abundant (Mode A), the ECO-2 automatically triggers the system's controller into run mode starting the Ozefridge system, forcing it to consume, convert and store the abundant electrical energy into the eutectic plate(s) as thermal energy for future use.
2.) When engaged ECO-2 also operates the Ozefridge system at maximum compressor speed to convert the most refrigeration into eutectic storage while the power supply is abundant.
3.) When ECO-2 takes control the eutectic mass is maintained in a frozen state within the lower half of the pre-set temperature operating range to maintain the most eutectic thermal mass into storage while the power supply is abundant.
4.) During normal operations the ECO-2 checks constantly for the availability of abundant power. This ensures that any abundant power is always detected.
5.) Whenever only limited power (Mode L) is available, the frozen eutectic mass will hold-over the cabinet temperature for up to a day or so and if no further opportunity to use abundant power occurs in the meantime, the system automatically reverts to using the limited battery supply as further refrigeration is required.

Examples of how this exclusive Ozefridge option can spare your batteries:

Example 1: Bill sails his yacht mostly at weekends and when at sea battery power is at a premium. During the week, Bill's yacht is in the pen connected to 240 volts mains power so he leaves everything in the fridge and it runs automatically on the mains ready for the next outing. While at sea bill runs a small gen-set at night for an hour or so and on occasions he is under motor.

Outcomes with a basic air cooled aluminum cold plate system:

If Bill installs an air-cooled cyclic cold plate system, his fridge will run on average say 10 minutes on and 20 minutes off. Without the backup of water cooling, the run times
will increase and efficiency will decrease as temperature rises during the hotter months. (Just when I needed you most!). This type of cyclic refrigeration requires power on
demand throughout the 24-hour day relying mostly on the batteries limited power supply and using little of any abundant power when available. (While costing less initially, this is the most inefficient system with the greatest demand on batteries).

Outcomes with Ozefridge Eutectic System:

If Bill installs an Ozefridge eutectic system with air and water cooling, 12/24 Volt & 110/240 AC operation and the ECO-2 option, he will enjoy all the benefits of eutectic
refrigeration and have the most comprehensive power management, control, and failsafe system available. When Bill sails out from the pen, his eutectic tank will be frozen
solid with no further refrigeration needed until the eutectic mass is consumed. Now at sea, the solar panel has topped up the battery yet there is still plenty of sun and
therefore abundant energy. As the battery volts exceeds 13.5 volts, the ECO-2 will cause the Ozefridge to run and store more energy in the eutectic plate(s). Later at
night Bill runs the 240 volt generator for an hour or so and again the ECO-2 trips in and unlike other systems will choose to run direct from the gen-set's 240 volts leaving any
charge into the battery to be a net again. With the ECO-2 power management and STC control; this system would require little if any power from the  battery supply.

Example 2:
Fred is cruising and relies on solar and a Honda 1KVA generator to recharge his battery bank.

Outcomes with the Ozefridge eutectic system:

Fred has found that his refrigeration is cold enough if his Ozefridge eutectic system has one freeze per day involving about 4 hours of total running during the 24 hour period.
Often Fred's batteries are fully charged yet there is still plenty of wind or solar power, power that would otherwise be wasted, but the ECO-2 is causing the Ozefridge to store
this as thermal energy. at night, if the gen-set is used, the Ozefridge will be at it again, storing energy (refrigeration in advance) and sparing precious battery supply. Fred's
system rarely uses power from his battery supply and when in the marina the Ozefridge will run on the mains power from any country.
Other benefits of the ECO-2 management system:
1) Less cost and weight: Reduced demand on the battery bank means that the need for additional battery power is reduced or eliminated.
2) Reducing the number of times any battery is discharged increases its life considerably. With far less battery demand, longer service life can be expected.
3) With less battery power required for refrigeration, more is available for other requirements.
ECO2 is a product developed by Ozefridge and is an option for Ozefridge Systems only. (Discretely installed inside C450 or C480)


Option Two:  Danfoss BD80 compressor upgrade.
Item Name: Refrigeration Condensing Unit: Model C480 as an option.
The Ozefridge C480 uses the powerful Danfoss BD80 compressor
located in the same stainless steel cabinet as the C450 and with all the
same dimensions. )Footprint of 240mm wide x 300 mm deep with front
and rear rubber bushed hold down points. Stainless steel self tapping
screws supplied)
The Danfoss BD80 has 89.6% greater output than the Danfoss *BD35
(*as used by makers of imported systems, but not Ozefridge!) and 44%
more than the BD50, and yet provides even more powerful refrigeration
when used in the C480 with the added benefit of the Ozefridge's
standard water cooled condensing.
Ideal for larger cabinets,
combination fridge / freezers and commercial applications.
The C480 must be used with the P3 water pump cooling.
While the C450 operates from 12 or 24 VDC and 110 or 240 VAC.,
the C480 only operates from 12 or 24
VDC.

Option Three: P3 Micro-Pump Kit:
Item Name: P3 Centrifugal Pump & 10 mt. of hose (12or 24 volt)
All Ozefridge C450 and C480 systems are equipped with both air and water   cooled condensers. The C450 and C480 units are pre-wired and plumbed  ready for the addition of the optional P3 pump when / if required.
Using water cooling on 40ºc days can increase cooling capacity up to 60%.
Although sea water can be used, we recommend cycling fresh water from the boats water tank for this purpose. The water is recycled, not harmed and the possibility of corrosion, fouling and electrolysis problems are eliminated.

Ozefridge systems have an exclusive dual air / water condenser that allows the water to cool via fin transfer and without direct contact with the refrigerant galleries. Unlike other water cooled condensers, it is impossible for electrolysis to cause a loss of gas and destruction of the system if  sea water is used.






Option Five: Cabinet Circulation Fan
Item Name: Cabinet Circulation Fan
The cabinet circulation fan is 125mm x 80 x 40 and with mounting lugs. Ideal for fridge or freezer cabinet circulation if stratification is a problem.   The fan operates from 12 VDC and consumes 1.3 watts. (1/10th of an amp)
